Fracture 2nd MC Neck Pinning

Index finger metacarpal neck fracture with dorsal apical angulation (head displaced into the palm) can cause pain with gripping because of pressure on the bone. this can be corrected and held in position until bone healing occurs with K-wires.

Lateral view showing the palmar flexion of the metacarpal head which can cause problems with grip because it is displaced into the soft tissues of the palm and can cause pressure with strong grip.

Intra-operative view showing the reduced fracture being maintained in position with crossed K-wires.
